he Attorney General of the self-proclaimed Sanctuary State of California has sued the federal government for wanting to include a census question about whether one is a U.S. citizen or not. The 2020 census will query households about their occupants, ages, and national origins—but only South American and Asian nations, not African, European or other nations. It asks for names of the tribe, if Native American. The objection to the citizenship question appears misplaced, given the arbitrary questions regarding nation origin. This week, the Supreme Court weighed in, denying a motion to stay the deposition of high-level Trump administration personnel in connection with the suit.
